Millet Khichdi

Ingredients:

- 1 cup millet

- 1/2 cup green peas

- 1/2 cup diced carrots

- 1/2 cup diced potatoes

- 1/2 cup diced onions

- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder

- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala

- 2 tablespoons oil

- Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:

- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.

- Once the cumin seeds start to splutter, add the onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

- Add the potatoes, carrots, and green peas and sauté for a few minutes.

- Add the millet and sauté for a few minutes.

- Add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt to taste.

- Add 2 cups of water and mix everything together.

- Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles.

- Once the pressure is released, open the lid and fluff the khichdi with a fork.

- Serve hot with raita or pickle.
